Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions answered honestly.
1. What services are provided at Two Hearts Homes for Seniors?
We provide personalized assisted living and memory care services tailored to each resident’s needs. This includes help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and grooming, medication management, 24/7 supervision, home-cooked meals, and a full calendar of social activities. Our goal is to provide as much or as little support as your loved one needs — and to adjust as those needs change over time.
2. Do you provide 24-hour care?
Yes. Our trained caregivers are on-site around the clock, every day of the year. Because our homes are small by design, there’s always a caregiver nearby — not at the end of a long corridor or behind a nurses’ station. Residents are never waiting long for help, and families have peace of mind knowing someone is always present.
3. What types of rooms are available at your facilities?
We offer private and semi-private rooms, each arranged to feel like a personal living space rather than a clinical room. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture, photos, and belongings to make it truly their own. Both our Lowell and Crown Point homes are residential-scale, so no room feels far from the heart of the home.
4. How much does assisted living at Two Hearts Homes cost?
Pricing depends on the level of care your loved one needs and the type of accommodation. We believe in transparent, straightforward pricing — no surprise fees. Contact us for a personalized quote, or use our Assisted Living Cost Calculator to get an estimate based on your specific situation.
5. Are family members allowed to visit?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Family involvement is one of the things that makes life at Two Hearts feel different. We have flexible visiting hours so you can stop by when it works for you, join your loved one for a meal, or take part in activities. This is their home, and you’re always welcome in it.
6. What activities and social programs do you offer?
We offer a rotating calendar of activities designed to keep residents engaged, connected, and enjoying their days. This includes group exercises, arts and crafts, gardening, games, music, and scheduled outings in the community. Activities are never mandatory — we follow each resident’s lead — but most find they look forward to them. You can see a full overview on our Activities page.
7. How do I know if Two Hearts Homes is the right choice for my loved one?
The best way to know is to visit. Most families tell us they felt it within the first few minutes — the size of the home, the way our staff interact with residents, the smell of a home-cooked meal on the stove. We’d rather show you than tell you. Schedule a tour, bring your hardest questions, and see for yourself whether it feels right.
8. How many residents live in each home?
Our homes are intentionally small. We keep resident numbers low so that every person receives genuine, individual attention — not the kind of care that gets stretched thin across dozens of rooms. This is one of the most important differences between Two Hearts and a large assisted living facility. Contact us for current availability at either location.
9. Do you accept Medicaid or long-term care insurance?
We accept private pay and long-term care insurance. We do not currently participate in Medicaid. If you’re uncertain about how to cover the cost of care, we’re happy to walk you through the options available and help you understand what your long-term care policy covers. Contact our team to discuss your specific situation.
10. Is Two Hearts Homes licensed by the State of Indiana?
Yes. Two Hearts Homes for Seniors is fully licensed and regulated by the State of Indiana. We meet all state requirements for residential assisted living facilities and welcome families to ask about our compliance history during a tour. Transparency isn’t just a value for us — it’s built into how we operate.
11. What is the difference between your Lowell and Crown Point locations?
Both homes share the same care philosophy, the same standards, and the same family-operated ownership — but they’re distinct spaces. Our Lowell home at 18220 Clark St is our original location, with an established team and a close-knit resident community. Our Crown Point home at 1600 Feather Rock Drive is our newest location, featuring a modern build and serving families across southern Lake County. We’re happy to help you decide which home is the better fit — just reach out or tour both.
