We are a family-owned company that runs two senior care homes here in Northwest Indiana — one in Lowell and one in Crown Point. We are looking for a dependable handyman to help us keep them in good shape.
This is not a big commercial building with a maintenance crew. These are homes, and we treat them that way.
What you would be doing
- Small drywall patching and painting
- Changing light bulbs, filters, and other basic upkeep
- Minor repairs around the homes
- The more you are able to handle, the better — plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general maintenance experience is a big plus
Hours and schedule
The workload comes and goes. Some weeks it is just a few hours of small stuff. Other times we have a bigger project that runs a few weeks straight. If you are looking for steady 40 hours, this is not that — but if you want flexible work that fits around your other jobs, it is a good fit.
We are also flexible on when the work gets done — mornings, afternoons, early evenings, whatever works for you. The only real rule is that work wraps up before our residents settle in for the night.
What we are looking for
- Dependable — shows up when they say they will
- Comfortable working in a home where seniors live
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Own tools and reliable transportation
